1. WHAT ARE COOKIES
Cookies are small text files placed on your computer, tablet, or mobile device by a website’s server when you visit that website. Each cookie is unique to your browser and contains information that helps the website recognize your device on return visits and function correctly.
Cookies are widely used across the internet to make websites work efficiently, remember user preferences, and provide basic analytics to website operators. Cookies do not contain executable code and cannot run programs or deliver viruses to your device.
Term | What It Means |
Session cookie | Exists only while your browser is open. Deleted automatically when you close the browser. |
Persistent cookie | Remains on your device for a set period of time, or until you delete it manually. |
First-party cookie | Set directly by iSportz on the isportz.co domain. |
Third-party cookie | Set by a third-party service (such as an analytics provider) embedded in iSportz’s pages. |
2. WHAT COOKIES iSPORTZ USES
iSportz uses only the following three categories of cookies. Each is described below with its purpose, type, and whether it can be disabled.
2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
CANNOT BE DISABLED: Strictly necessary cookies are required for the iSportz Platform to function. Without them, core features such as login, session security, and navigation cannot operate. These cookies do not collect personal information for marketing purposes.
2.2 Functional Cookies
CAN BE CONTROLLED: Functional cookies improve your experience by remembering your preferences. Disabling them will not break the Platform but may mean you need to re-enter preferences on each visit.
2.3 Analytics Cookies
CAN BE CONTROLLED: Analytics cookies help iSportz understand how the Platform is used in aggregate — not to identify individual users, but to identify which features are working well and where improvements are needed. All analytics data is aggregated and anonymized before review.
iSportz does not use analytics cookies to build individual user profiles, for retargeting, or for any advertising purpose. Analytics data is used exclusively to improve the iSportz Platform and Services.
3. WHAT iSPORTZ DOES NOT DO WITH COOKIES
iSportz Does NOT Use: | What This Means for You |
Advertising cookies or behavioral tracking cookies | iSportz does not use cookies to track you across other websites or build an advertising profile about you. No advertising network has cookie access through the iSportz Platform. |
Third-party retargeting pixels | iSportz does not place Facebook Pixel, Google Ads remarketing tags, or similar retargeting technologies on the Platform. |
Social media tracking plugins | iSportz does not embed social media plugins (such as Facebook Like buttons or Twitter widgets) that would allow those platforms to track your activity on iSportz. |
Cross-device tracking for advertising | iSportz does not link your Platform activity to your activity on other apps or websites for advertising purposes. |
Cookies on child athlete accounts | iSportz does not use any tracking cookies in connection with child athlete records. See the iSportz Children’s Privacy Policy at https://isportz.co/legal-COPPA. |
4. HOW TO CONTROL AND OPT OUT OF COOKIES
4.1 Browser Settings
Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically:
- View what cookies are stored on your device
- Delete all or specific cookies
- Block all cookies from all websites
- Block third-party cookies only
- Set your browser to notify you before a cookie is set
Below are links to cookie settings for the most common browsers:
⚠ IMPORTANT: Disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from logging in to the iSportz Platform and using its core features. iSportz recommends disabling only functional and analytics cookies if you wish to limit cookie use while maintaining Platform access.
4.2 Google Analytics Opt-Out
To opt out of Google Analytics tracking specifically, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, available at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. This prevents Google Analytics from collecting information about your visits to any website that uses it.
4.3 Do Not Track (DNT)
iSportz does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals because there is no uniform industry standard for how websites should respond to DNT requests. iSportz does not use advertising or behavioral tracking cookies regardless of your DNT setting.
4.4 Mobile Devices
On mobile devices, you can control cookies and tracking through your device’s privacy settings. On iOS, go to Settings → Safari → Privacy & Security. On Android, go to your browser app settings and select Privacy or Site Settings. For iSportz mobile apps, cookie-equivalent data is managed through your device’s app permissions.
5. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES AND THEIR COOKIES
iSportz uses a limited number of third-party services that may set their own cookies when you access the Platform. iSportz selects only services that operate in accordance with applicable US privacy law and contractually restricts their use of any data collected through cookies on the iSportz Platform.
iSportz does not permit any third-party service to use cookies set on the iSportz Platform for their own advertising or marketing purposes. iSportz does not share cookie data with advertisers or data brokers.
6. DATA COLLECTED THROUGH COOKIES
The data collected through cookies on the iSportz Platform is handled in accordance with the iSportz Privacy Policy at https://isportz.co/legal/privacy-policy/. In summary:
- Strictly necessary and functional cookie data is used only to operate the Platform session and remember your preferences. It is not retained beyond the session or the cookie’s stated expiry period.
- Analytics cookie data is aggregated and anonymized before any review by iSportz staff. It cannot reasonably be used to identify individual users.
- No cookie data collected by iSportz is sold to third parties or shared for advertising purposes.
- No cookie data is collected from or associated with child athlete records. Child data protections are described in the iSportz Children’s Privacy Policy at https://isportz.co/legal-COPPA.
7. CHANGES TO THIS COOKIE POLICY
iSportz may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use, changes in applicable law, or changes in our Platform and services. When we make material changes:
- The “Last Updated” date at the top of this Policy will be updated
- The updated Policy will be posted at https://isportz.co/legal/cookie-policy/
- For material changes that affect how we use your data, iSportz will notify registered users via email or Platform notification
Your continued use of the iSportz Platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Cookie Policy.
